5 Reasons Why I Cannot Sell My Car at World Wide Web Auction.

This is a very general question from people trying to sell a vehicle

at an on the world wide web auction. I'm going to make this as a short article, because it is ridiculously simple to answer. It is generally one of 5 causes.

1. Your original bid is exorbitant. People see your motorcar at auction, they see that nobody else has bid on it yet, so for this reason, it is an undesirable vehicle. "If no one else would like it why would I?". If you display a reserve price (least amount you'll take) on your motor vehicle or truck then what difference does it make if you start it at $1.00. I know you may be thinking that "anyone that would bid that low is not serious about buying it". That doesn't matter. What matters is when the real buyers see that it is currently at $7,200 with 46 bids they think it is a desirable vehicle. "Other people want it, it probably is be good." People do not wear Nike tennis shoes because of the quality, they wear them because they saw someone else wear them, simple mob mentality principle.
2. Bad description, pictures and video. If you post a vehicle with just three pictures and a few of sentences, congratulations I can predict your future and it is bleak. You can not sell the motor vehicle. No effort... no reward. You should have at the very least 15 or 20 images and 2 or 3 paragraphs to accurately describe your car. Also, the more text you have in a description, the more keywords that will kick out in a search engine query. This will enhance the amount of traffic you get to see your auction in the first place.
3. Communication. I cannot believe how many times i received an email on 1 of my vehicles that was posted at an internet auction that at the end of their question they state "Please Reply". What? This tells me that they have experienced asking questions to other sellers and they have gotten no reply. That makes me happy because that means that I'm going to sell my vehicle, and for more money and the people that didn't reply to the bidders questions will get the opportunity to decide to cheap sell their vehicle or have to re-list it.
4. Timing. If you enable your vehicles auction to end in the middle of a work week during the day, the odds are you will drop off the amount of last minute bidders. Some people will be at work and are not around a pc and others will be wrapped up in their daily rituals and totally forget that they were going to bid on it in the first place. Next thing you know, you will be receiving an email stating that they missed the auction and was willing to give way more for it than it generated. If you close your auction during dinner time, you will get the exact same reaction. So, it is ideal to finish an auction when you think that your target market will be winding down for the evening. I'm in the Midwest and I try to close my auctions to coincide with the time variance from coast to coast. Usually I end them around 8:00 p.m. Central Time. Again, this maximizes the sum of buyers that have a chance to see the auction end. The conclusion is where the excitement is.
5. Your valuation is too high! I know you have the nicest 2001 Dodge Caravan anywhere and it is worth way more than any book or person would even understand. Truth is, you may be right, but you will still own your automobile. It just will not sell. Unfortunately we live on a planet called Earth and we have to abide by principles referred to as reality and these realities have a direct impact on what your motorcar is valued at. Books are just guides and not a soul will want to give you top price of any book no matter how nice your car is. Also, availability has a lot to do with pricing your auto. You may have the nicest 2004 Chevy Corvette, but unfortunately GM made a few more of those cars than just yours. There may be hundreds or thousands of these automobiles available for sale and this will effect supply and demand aspects of your auction. Do some investigating, see what other vehicles are being sold for. Acknowledge I didn't say what other people are asking for a vehicle but what two people in reality agreed upon as a ending price. Then make lifelike adjustments to your value. Face it, if you gave the farm for it a few years back, odds are it went south in value (unless of course it was a collectible, muscle car, classic). You will be less exhausted if you just sell it an get on with your life. I'm not saying to dump it. Well this leads me to another point about car pricing. The internet is at hand to most of the civilized world. And many of the average folks that are seeking for your specific auto are seriously in the market and have done their own research in advance of bidding. If you think that you are the only person that knows what your motor vehicle is worth, I'm sorry my buddy, you are sadly mistaken.

Ok, I lied this wasn't a short article. I just was not able to help myself. These principles are so apparent that it had to be said. I have efficiently sold hundreds of vehicles at net auctions. There is no abracadabra formula to selling each one, but if you put some of these principles in play, you will greatly increase your chance of a gain. All the best!

I came up with this great idea to save money on your groceries every week. It is amazingly simple but to this point I have not heard of anyone doing it.

What you will need:

A friend or spouse, 2 cell phones (with free minute plan), 2 matching grocery lists, 2 competing grocery stores.

I'm sure you know where this is going. First you drop off your spouse or friend at one of the competing grocery stores. Then you drive to the other competing grocery store. You break out your copy of the grocery list and call your friend or spouse. You go down the list with them on the cell phone (hopefully you have a free minute calling plan with the other phone or it may cost more in cell fees than it saves). You each compare prices for the same products and produce by the pound prices. Then you choose the cheaper of the two obviously. You go through the entire shopping list and believe it or not, you will have a substantial savings due to sales, promotions and just plain inconsistencies.

I came up with this idea when I was at my local grocery store and was buying a bottle of champagne. It was priced at $17 so I picked it up and went to the front to pay. While there they only had one checker and he was new. I waited in line for about 15 minutes and was making no headway. Giving the checker and myself a break I left and went across the street to their competitors and found the exact bottle of champagne for $13. No sale, no promotion just their every day price. I looked around some more to check the other prices on goods I regularly buy and could not believe the discrepancies in price.

It would take too long for one person to compare prices in this way, but with a helper you can knock it out pretty quick and save some big money. Happy Shopping!

Emotions and Investing is a Bad Mix by Robert Christy

I've never been a big proponent of emotion investing, but given the number of phone calls this past week, I thought now might be a good time to address it.

Buying stocks is pretty easy. People do it all the time. Knowing when to sell is something else entirely and most investors miss the boat on this one. The talking heads remind us daily that selling shouldn't be an emotional process. No kidding.

(Note: Most of the talking heads don't own any stock or mutual funds at all. Those that espouse the most are ones who have their money in money market funds and CDs. They want you to heed their wisdom, but these folks don't eat their own cooking.)

Professional traders and investors use an array of tools to set selling objectives. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Trust me, I know this from experience. I've had a number of stops jumped recently and have the scars to prove it. I use a number of charts and technical indicators to set selling points on both positions and the entire portfolio. Sometimes this works like a charm and sometimes it doesn't. The one thing that I don't do is to let my emotions get in the way of things. I trust the numbers period.

Everyday investors don't have the luxury of knowing what I do, nor do they have my experience. When emotions enter the fray, they wreak havoc on a portfolio. The two most dominant emotions people have are fear and hope. When it comes to deciding whether to hold onto a stock or to get out, fear and hope are the worst of all combinations. If one of your stocks is losing money, you have two options, hope it turns around or be afraid of losing more money. The thing to do is to cut your loss and wait for a better opportunity to present itself.

If one of your stocks is making money, you have two options, hope to keep making money or be afraid that you'll leave points on the table by not getting out at the top. The thing to do is hope that you keep making money.

The idea in all of this is to get out of stocks that are falling and to stay in ones that are rising. The problem is that this is easier said than done because a winner that stops going up causes you to fear losing money.

So the question is this, how do you separate your emotions and your investment portfolio? I'm not a psychologist or a behavioral scientist. I am a student of human behavior. If you want to keep your emotions out of your investment portfolio, consider the following:

1. Step one is to get to know the face in the mirror. It's the one with wrinkles and blood-shot eyes looking back at you every morning. That's your best friend and your worst enemy. How emotional are you? How much risk do you really want to take? In other words, how much of loss can you take before you walking the halls at night screaming like a land starved longshoreman?

2. Make it hard for you to screw up. If you use a broker, place sell stop orders with them in advance. If you trade online, use GTC (good-till-cancelled) orders. If you place the orders in advance, don't change them. Also, give yourself plenty of room to maneuver. In days of yore, it was common to use stops of 5 to 7 percent. With today's gyrations, daily moves of 12-15 percent aren't uncommon. If your stops are too close, you'll get stopped out prematurely leading to too much trading activity.

3. Understand this, THIS IS YOUR MONEY THAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH. It's your future and your families. If you don't keep your eye on it, know one will. The more you know and understand what you're doing, the more successful that you'll be.

You need to know the upside potential, the downside risks, how will my portfolio behave if interest rates go up or down, what happens if the dollar gets stronger or weaker, and a host of other things. Do you need to be an expert? No you don't. But, don't be in the dark either. Your cousin's latest tip or the one from the guy with the awful necktie at work don't cut it. That's not a strategy, it's a bet. Ordinary people don't win many bets. If you don't believe me, just hop a plane to Las Vegas, Reno or Atlantic City.

Look, I've been in this game since 1982 and this is a fact - your emotions will either make you or break you. It's that simple. You will never conquer all of your emotions, but you can get your arms around them. Stock trading isn't about picking the right stocks, that's a really small part of the overall picture. It's about coming to grips with your hopes and fears. Once you have your emotions under control, you're well on your way to being successful.

Investing isn't about conquering your emotions. It's about handling them. If you have a handle on your emotions without using any of the above tools (or other tools of your choosing), you're the rare investor indeed. As for the rest of us, letting our money management and investment tools guide and control our financial decisions is a necessary step toward successful investing.

The desire to travel with your Labrador Retriever is tempting. Many people love to travel with their pets but dog owners should always remember that not all pets can or should travel by plane. Before deciding to fly with your four-legged friend, you need to consider various factors such as your pet's age, breed, size and health.

Age.

Some laws require that only animals at least eight weeks old and fully weaned are allowed to travel in the cargo hold of a plane. Vets also discourage air travel for elder pets.

Prepare your pet.

Before making any plan, have your Labrador Retriever checked out by your veterinarian. Most airlines require that should have a full physical examination and be tested for various diseases prior to the flight. Make sure your pet has updated his vaccines against distemper, parvovirus, rabies and others. Ask for the exam certificate or the papers to prove the vaccinations and that your pet has been tested as these papers are required by most airline. The date of the exam certificate should be within a certain amount of time before the date of the flight.

Contact the airline.

Requirement for transporting dogs vary among airlines as well as countries. Speak to your particular airline and ask about specific requirements.

Flying Alone.

You cannot send your dog across the country without you. Unaccompanied dogs must be transported by a licensed pet transportation company. But as much as possible, always travel on the same flight as your pet. To be sure, ask the airline if you can watch your pet being loaded and unloaded into the cargo hold.

Identification.

One of the most important things to remember when traveling, even just a trip to the nearest grocery store, is your dog's identification collar. Securely affix two ID collars to your dog- a permanent ID with your name, home address and telephone number, and a temporary travel ID with the address and telephone number where you can be reached in case of emergencies. Make sure to provide a collar that can't get caught in carrier doors.

Motion sickness.

Avoid feeding your pet four to six hours before the flight to prevent motion sickness and vomiting. Small amounts of water can be given before the trip. You can give him anti-motion sickness medications to help settle the stomach and prevent drooling. For added preparation, just bring old towels or a roll of paper towels to clean your dog's mess just in case.

How to get rust out of a carpet or rug

At some point in everyones life they are confronted with the impossible to overcome obstacle of removing rust from carpet. It seems like a task that requires taking up the carpet and replacing it. If anything, it is going to take days to get it out and it will still leave a noticeable stain.

In reality it only takes a few minutes to leave your carpet perfectly clean. I've personally used this technique hundreds of times in the auto detailing industry. Many times a car owner will leave a tire tool in the floor of a trunk or or back floor board. Unbelievably they have even left them in the back seat as well.

Items you will need:

A good stiff brush like the one shown above.
A bucket of water with a little shampooing soap of any kind in it (I sometimes use dish-washing liquid).
Rubber gloves.
Carpet shampooer or wet vac.

A spray bottle of automotive brake dust cleaner.

You can find brake dust cleaner at any automotive store in many different brands. It is an acid that cleans the black brake dust off of chrome or aluminum wheels to keep them from pitting. This is usually a hydrofluoric acid and can burn your skin so please be careful and use the gloves. You will need to follow the directions for safety on the bottle.

I know what you are thinking," isn't that too harsh of a cleaner for my carpets?". Actually in rare situations it could be. But most of the time the active ingredients in the cleaner reacts strongly to metal based materials and not so strongly to organic or petroleum based materials.

How to remove rust from carpet:

Put on the gloves (very important)
Find a patch of the carpet that you are not worried about getting damaged and using the brake dust cleaner spray bottle, spray a small portion of the carpet to do a test to make sure it doesn't hurt the area you are trying to repair. Lets face it, if this technique doesn't work on your carpet it is ruined anyway.
If all is good with test carpet, get the area you want to repair wet with the brush and the bucket. You want to try to get the fiber portion of the carpet saturated but not so much that is soaks the flooring under the carpet ( a little water won't hurt).
After saturating the fibers you will want to spray the rust encrusted area with the brake dust cleaner. Immediately start scrubbing it with the brush and braking down the rust particles. You may need to add more water to your brush to keep it saturated.
When all of the rust has been displaced, go over it again with plenty of water with the brush in an attempt to begin nutrilizing the acid.
Run a shampooer over the area completely and let dry.
Most likely the rust will completely disappear, but if not you may repeat the process.

There has been a few over the counter cleaners on tv that show cleaning slow spraying showers and faucets. More than likely these are hydrofluoric based products also and can be used. Also, in a pinch a few bowl cleaners have the same chemicals. But the best results have been from the products listed above.

I just read in another article that you can use lemon juice. Wow, that's never gonna work! Tried it, sorry no substantial reaction.

I have had great success with this process for many years and hopefully you will to. But again remember not all products are designed to be used for any other purpose than they were intentionally designed for. So, hopefully that is enough of a disclaimer for you to make your own intelligent decision. Good luck!

Who doesn't want a better salary? We all could use a pay raise, but the problem is—how to get it? How should you approach the boss? What should you say? And—equally importantly—what should you avoid saying in order to plead your case in the most effective way possible?

The first step to making sure you make a good case for yourself is to have all the knowledge you can gather up. How much are other employees in your position making? Try to obtain this information discreetly—don't just ask your coworkers what their salary is. Be sensitive to the fact that others may not want to tell you how much money they make, and be respectful. Before your negotiations, be sure and double check that your information is accurate.

But don't be too quick to use your coworkers higher salaries as justification for your own pay raise. You need to think about why you may be getting paid less. Is your performance weak in any way? Are you substantially newer at the company? Do you work fewer hours than others in your same position? Do you contribute less overall? These are all factors that may affect how much compensation you get for your work.

If your lower pay/salary is a result of poor performance, then you should focus on improved accomplishments at the workplace. Make it obvious to all those around you that you deserve more money. Always arrive on time, stay late if possible, and don't goof off during work hours. Don't just do the bare minimum, but rather go above and beyond the call of duty at every opportunity you are presented with. It's the overachievers who generally are given the greatest rewards.

The best way to prove your solid work ethic is to arrive for negotiation armed with a list of your accomplishments. This is especially important if the employer is not someone you work with closely on a daily basis. If you give up too much power with women you will be looked at by women as the wussie that you are. Unlike men women are not like a good bottle of wine that gets better with age. In 2008 with the way women are today I can understand how most men feel lucky to get even one girlfriend or wife let alone many sexy, beautiful young girlfriends. There are the men hating femi-nazis, the proud girls and there are plenty of young women who don't see the attraction in older men. It is truly an art to meet, attract and seduce young women especially if you are an older man. For most men, including young men it is just too much work and thus they go the traditional route of marriage. By the way, I believe in family and people to love as long as they don't get in the way of my being a playboy. In many cases the children become a way of holding the man for ransom. It is so easy for a man to get in a life long prison with the wrong woman. In my opinion even with the "right woman" life will become boring and stale. Married life for many men is a living Hell. The obligation a man feels for a woman can keep a man from really enjoying life.

I probably have the best life of any man on earth. Many different sexy women keeps me alive and makes my life exciting to say the least. I would like to share in my good fortune. It would be nice to have a best buddy. The truth is I don't like very many people but I love sexy young women. Now don't get me wrong I do NOT enjoy spending lots of time with young women. HHO gas cars are making the news and one has to wonder if this type of technology can reduce our dependence on foreign oil. HHO gas car kits are available online and are claiming an increase in gas mileage up to 100%. When you do a little more research it appears that 15 - 40% seems more typical.

You could always purchase a hybrid car but these cars are not cheap costing thousands of dollars.

With oil consumption increasing globally and through 2009 it is expected that consumption in the U.S. should increase about 0.8 percent as younger drivers come on board. As third word countries oil consumption increases it will put a further burden on current supplies. The good news is that current supplies will continue to output more barrels per day and add to the current supply so overall this effect will be that supplies will not continue to get any tighter. It is expected that current oil and gas prices will be somewhat stable through 2009. Even with gasoline prices remaining about the same it still put s burden on many drivers who have a limited budget. This will leave many drivers looking for alternative ways to increase gas mileage or cut back on driving and investigate other methods of improving gas mileage such as HHO gas car kits.

With current government figures showing that about 60% of our crude is imported even a minimal increase in gas mileage of 15% would be enough to tip the scales and reduce foreign oil imports. Couple HHO technology with other hybrid car technologies and it would be very possible to seriously reduce our dependence on foreign oil. It would also have an impact on global warming due to the reductions in emissions.

With gas prices increasing every time you fill up many people are looking for alternatives to save fuel. HHO gas car kits are becoming more popular as an alternative energy source. As an EX-alcoholic and EX-drug user (no longer a "recovering" one for 24 years now after 18 years of use), I'm happy to present here the method that accomplished that for me and that I guarantee will also work for you.

Doing some research on the internet it has been shown that lifting weights was uncommon for martial artists during his time period. Many people would focus in on their talents and skill to defeat their enemies or to compete. He said most of the power of martial arts moves comes from the abs and should be the muscle that is focused on the most. Doing crunches would not remove fat but proper weight training and cardio would. Bruce Lee went away from tradition and decided that strength training was the way to go. Before he started all of his training he weighed around 130 pounds. When he completed his program he was about 160 pounds. To put on 30 pounds of muscle on a small frame is amazing.

Bruce Lee has taught many of his students the importance of weight training and strength. He has produced a number of routines and if you need to make a change into your routine his would be well worth a look. We all know the results he was able to get out of it.

The one thing that I've learned about poker over the years is that you have to have a very good plan and strategy before you ever hit the table.
